Formal Cards and Informal Notes

Formal cards (flat note cards) may be engraved in a neutral shade of ink with a proper social name. This card is used for the same purposes as a letter sheet but assumes a more modern and concise form.

An informal (folded notes, shown) is a small white or ecru note that is traditionally engraved in black or grey ink. It is marked with a woman’s proper social name, preceded by her title. If desired, we can block "Mr. and" from the plate, to avoid having another plate made. This piece may be used to send a very brief message, or to enclose with a gift. It is not properly used as a thank-you note or calling card. “Mr. and Mrs.” is used on an informal only when its purpose is to issue an invitation from both husband and wife.

As with all notes, writing should be limited to the lower inside panel.
